It is the highest priority of ACAPL to adopt out healthy and behaviorally sound animals in our community. Our adoption fees help to offset the cost of evaluation, housing, feeding and medical care for the thousands of animals that need our help. We do our best to keep our adoption prices reasonable while still generating necessary income to support our mission. Because we are a nonprofit organization, donations subsidize the gap between the cost for care and the adoption fee.

ACAPL is a volunteer-based organization. Our staff consists of twelve people who are charged primarily with the responsibility of caring for the more than 150 animals in our facility. Unfortunately, staff and budget limitations make it impossible to field the numerous telephone, email, and USPS inquiries. If you are interested in adopting, please come for a visit and say hello during business hours. We would be more than happy to answer any questions in person that you may have about particular available pets.

Our adoption process consists of a one-page (front and back) adoption application, a visit with an adoption counselor to review the terms of the adoption contract, and (upon approval) payment of the adoption fee. Animals can not be reserved by email, telephone, or any other method and adoption applications are only accepted in person at the Green Road Adoption Center.
