GoodSearch: You Search...We Give!

ACAPL is a 501(c)(3) member organization committed to providing temporary housing for homeless dogs and cats, reducing pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs, and finding safe homes for adoptable dogs and cats.

The APL is looking for 20 adult volunteers (19+ years of age) to staff the Ashtabula Towne Square Adoption Center every Saturday. Hours of operation are 11am-7pm, consisting of three 4-hour shifts:
(1) 9am-1pm; (2) 12noon - 4pm; and (3) 3-8pm.
First and third shifts may include transporting animals to/from the mall location and APL Green Road Adoption Center. All volunteers will be trained in APL policies and procedures.

The mall Adoption Center is a huge part of the Animal Protective League. Since April 2004, more than 1700 dogs and cats have been adopted at this location. Additionally, fundraising at the mall APL site raises thousands of dollars annually for the care of all APL animals.

Won't you consider donating four hours of your time each week to help us?

Please note:

The APL has confirmed the presence of ringworm and imposed a quarantine on the animals in the cat living room at the Green Road Adoption Center. Because ringworm is contagious to humans and other animals, the cat living room will be closed until further notice (estimated re-open date of July 29, 2010).

We are asking for your help during this time! Because it will be necessary to dispose of all bedding materials used in the quarantine area, we will need donations of disposable puppy pads and other cat supplies (like food/water dishes, small litter pans and toys).

We want everyone to know, WE STILL HAVE CATS AVAILABLE AND READY FOR ADOPTION! we still have 30-40 cats and kittens available (many of which are in foster homes at this time). We will have some of these cats available at our mall location on Saturday July 3rd. As always, if you are interested in a particular cat you see online, you can call or email adoptions@acapl.org to inquire about availability.
